The interview includes the following questions:
- As you review the 100+ years of IIE, what are some values of IIE that have stood the test of time? And what values, in your view, have evolved over a century?
- Your work has certainly impacted many individuals around the world (students and scholars alike). Is there anyone (or two) individuals that you remember the most (for example, Fulbright scholars, scholars rescued from Iraq, Ukraine)
- Under your 23+ years of leadership, you have seen great opportunities (doubling of international students studying in the USA in these two decades, for example) and you have also seen some challenges (9/11 for example). Can you talk about how you navigated these opportunities and challenges?
- Can you tell us about the IIE American Passport Program? What is it about how did it start and why.
- Could you please share the importance of "empathy" in order to be a successful leader in a global and cross-cultural organization? (We have observed over the years this as a particular strength of yours)
- What are some ways that IIE has helped international universities enhance their quality or offerings?
- Can you explain and illustrate the impact of the Fulbright program over the years - and its relevance to the world today.
